EMBRYO TRANSFER LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

ReproLogix® is currently seeking an Embryo Transfer Laboratory Technician to join our team of experienced Embryologists. This is a unique opportunity to be a key member of a team that performs embryology services for cattle, deer, sheep and goats. This full-time, salaried position is available immediately. There will be a required training and observation period following job acceptance. During this time, the candidate will receive extensive training in our specific laboratory procedures and will be evaluated for his/her compatibility with our team. After the training there will be an evaluation to determine the candidate’s capability of running a laboratory. Salary will be commensurate with experience and benefit eligibility will be determined following completion of the training period. Because of the nature of embryology work with animals, this is not a 9 to 5 job. Early mornings and late evenings will be required at times. While some travel is expected with this position, it is our goal to have our embryology team home every evening.

 

Responsibilities:

• Search and grade oocytes following OPU

• Search for and evaluate embryos post-flush

• Prepare embryos for direct transfer and cryopreservation

• Thaw and prepare semen for insemination

• Complete and maintain accurate OPU, insemination, embryo flush, freeze and transfer reports

• Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment

• Effectively communicate with multiple team members and/or clients

• Adhere to established standard operating procedures

• Traveling via plane or vehicle

• Packing all equipment necessary when working on farm

• Report errors immediately

• Maintain a professional image at all times

• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

 

Education/Requirements/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related science

• Valid driver’s license

• Working knowledge of safe animal handling

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent organizational skills

• Fundamental computer skills (email, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time

• Willingness to perform work even in adverse weather conditions
